Devastating house collapse in southern India buries family alive
In a tragic incident caused by heavy rains, a house collapse in a village of southern India’s Andhra Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of four family members.
The incident took place in Chinna Wangali in Chagalamarri mandal, Nandyala district on August 2.
Visuals showed the bodies being recovered from under the collapsed house. The site was bone chilling as the bodies looked lifeless and as white as a pillar.
According to reports, the region has been experiencing relentless downpours, causing streams and bends to overflow, flooding roads, and washing away trees and mounds. Many villages are submerged, and homes are collapsing due to the severe weather conditions.
The unfortunate event occurred late on Thursday night when Tallapureddy Guru Shekhar Reddy, his wife, and their two children were asleep in their mud house. The heavy rains had weakened the structure, and it suddenly collapsed, trapping the family under the debris. The next morning, neighbors discovered the tragic scene and recovered the bodies from the rubble. The death of the four family members has left the village in deep mourning.
The local police have inspected the site and registered a case. It was reported that the family’s other daughter, Prasanna, was away studying in Proddatur at the time of the incident.
