Devastating fire engulfs wheat crop in northern India, leaves farmers in ruins

A massive fire ravaged a wheat crop in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, destroying over 15 acres within minutes, causing substantial financial losses.

The incident took place in the Babuin Purwa Rasoolpur village in the Kamrauli area of Amethi on April 19.

Visuals showed a terrifying blaze engulfing the crops  in the wheat fields, turning them into smoldering ashes while thick black smoke billowed into the sky. Nearby, villagers were in a frenzy, their faces filled with concern and agitation as they witnessed the unfolding disaster.

Local police and a large number of villagers rushed to extinguish the fire. The fire brigade team also arrived at the scene to control the blaze.

The entire incident occurred in the Kamrauli police station area, where the fire caused significant damage to the crops of seven farmers, leaving them with a loss of lakhs of rupees. Kamrauli SDM Abhinesh Kumar stated that the fire was caused by unknown reasons, resulting in approximately 15 acres of crops being burnt to ashes.

The entire police force, fire brigade team, and villagers are making efforts to control the fire.
