Deceptive trap leads to brutal attack on youth in western India
In a shocking incident in western India’s Maharashtra, a young man was brutally attacked after being tricked into meeting his assailants.
The incident took place in the Kirkatwadi area of Pune city on September 4.
Visuals showed a youth running on a busy roadside before being pulled by another man from behind and brutally beaten with kicks and punches on the road. A second attacker joined in, wielding a weapon resembling a knife, and continued the assault until the youth lost consciousness. The attackers then left him on the road.
According to reports, the attack was meticulously planned by the accused. Two months prior, the perpetrators created a fake social media profile posing as a girl and engaged the victim, Sagar Chavan, in conversations. Chavan, believing he was developing a romantic connection, was unaware of the trap. After a month of interaction, Chavan was lured into a dangerous situation under the pretense of meeting the person behind the profile and was subsequently attacked.
This incident follows two other violent occurrences in the region. Just two days ago, an NCP corporator, who was also the son of gangster Bandu Andekar, was shot and attacked with a Koyta, resulting in his death. In another case, a man was killed by hooligans in the Hadapsar area after refusing to share his internet hotspot with them.
