Daring robbery occurs on highway in southern India as gang kidnaps two men, loots 2.5 kg of gold ornaments
In a bold daylight heist in southern India’s Kerala, a gang of 12 members executed a highway robbery, kidnapping two men and looting 2.5 kg of gold ornaments.
The incident took place near Peechi area of Thrissur district on September 25.
Visuals showed three SUVs blocking the target vehicle as it approached a flyover under construction, narrowing the road. Using the situation to their advantage, the gang cornered the car, kidnapped the two men, and made off with the loot.
According to reports, the victims, identified as Arun Sunny and Rojy Thomas, were assaulted by the gang before being robbed of jewelry worth ₹1.84 crore. The police received the complaint and lodged an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An investigation into the case is underway.
