In a dramatic rescue operation in southern India’s Kerala, the Indian Coast Guard, along with the Indian Army and Indian Air Force, saved three individuals stranded at waterfalls in a region hit by a landslide.
The incident took place at Soojipara waterfalls in Wayanad district on August 3.

According to reports, the rescue mission commenced during early hours of the day and  search operation was carried along the riverbanks from Mundakai to Soojipara on August 3, when the ICG team discovered the stranded individuals.

The control center at Meppadi was promptly informed of the survivors’ location. Following intense coordination between land and air forces, all three were successfully rescued.

Currently, multiple rescue teams are scouring the nearby forest, the Chaliyar riverbanks, and the area around Soochipara waterfalls in an effort to locate any bodies from the landslide that occurred on July 30.
