Dangerous collision, KSRTC bus hits auto in southern India; victims hospitalized

Tragedy struck in southern India’s Kerala as three members of a family lost their lives in a devastating collision between an autorickshaw and a KSRTC bus.

 

The incident took place at Muttippadi in Malappuram district on June 20.

Visuals showed a KSRTC bus and an autorickshaw collided head-on with significant force. Due to the bus’s weight and speed, it pushed the auto rickshaw back upon impact before coming to a halt. Nearby witnesses were seen providing assistance to the occupants of the autorickshaw.

 

The incident took place at approximately 12:30 p.m. when their autorickshaw collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus heading towards Kozhikode. The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in two immediate fatalities at the scene, while the third victim succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital. The bodies were later transferred to the Government Medical College Hospital, Manjeri.

The victims, identified as Ashraf (44), his wife Sajita (37), and their daughter Fida (15) from Pulpatta near Manjeri, were en route to Government Girls Higher Secondary School for Fida’s Plus One admission when the accident occurred.

 

 

The community of Pulpatta near Manjeri mourns the loss of Ashraf, Sajita, and Fida, a family devastated as they were preparing for an important milestone in Fida’s education. The local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, focusing on determining the cause of the collision between the autorickshaw and the KSRTC bus.
