Crocodile jumps out of E-rickshaw in central India, locals blame forest department for negligence
A crocodile leaped out of a moving e-rickshaw during its transport to a nearby river in central India’s Madhya Pradesh. Locals accuse the Forest Department of negligence for not responding promptly to the situation.
The incident took place at Barkheda village, located near Vijaypur in Sheopur district on September 12.
Visuals showed while transporting a crocodile in an e-rickshaw, the animal tried to leap out and partially fell to the ground. Luckily, it had a rope tied around it, which prevented it from completely escaping and left it hanging from the rickshaw. A few people present at the scene quickly gathered to help lift the crocodile back, causing a bit of chaos and panic in the area.
According to reports a crocodile jumped out of an e-rickshaw while being transported by local villagers. The villagers had rescued the reptile from a house in Barkheda village the previous night after the Forest Department failed to respond to their call for assistance. Using sticks and ropes, the locals managed to subdue the crocodile and decided to transport it themselves to a nearby river.
However, during the journey near Vijaypur’s Sunwai Tiraha, the crocodile leaped out of the moving e-rickshaw. The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, showing the distressed animal before it made its escape attempt. Fortunately, the villagers were able to recapture the crocodile and continue their journey.
Residents are blaming the Forest Department for their delayed response, forcing them to take matters into their own hands. Yogendra Pardhe, Superintendent of the National Chambal Sanctuary, stated that the department is aware of the incident and will investigate the matter further before taking appropriate action.
