Crocodile causes chaos in northern India colony, rescued after standoff with forest team

In a dramatic rescue operation in northern India’s Uttarakhand, a crocodile was spotted near a residential colony and safely rescued by forest department personnel.

The incident took place in front of V Mart company on Bhagwanpur Road in Roorkee city of Haridwar district on October 14.

Visuals showed the crocodile in an open dry grass field, retaliating as forest personnel attempted to capture it. The rescue team, led by Forest Officer Narendra Kumar Saini and Reserve Officer Satyaveer Singh, worked tirelessly to subdue the animal. Despite the crocodile’s resistance, the forest department successfully managed to capture and secure it.

According to reports, the crocodile was first seen by people working near the roadside colony. The sighting caused panic, and soon a large crowd gathered at the spot. As the forest team arrived and initiated the rescue, they worked for several hours to safely catch the reptile. After the operation, the team released the crocodile into the Banganga river in Laksar.
