Cow swept away by raging floods as heavy rains batter northern India

In a concerning incident in northern India’s Rajasthan, heavy rains turned a road into a raging stream, causing a cow to be swept away by the floodwaters.

The incident took place in Peepul city of Tonk district and the video went viral on September 8.

Visuals showed a bridge completely transformed into a fast-flowing stream, with the floodwaters gushing at a high speed. A cow was seen struggling to escape but was eventually carried away by the powerful current.

According to reports, the Bhopatya drain on the Peepalu to Nathdi route is overflowing. This is the seventh time during this monsoon season that the sub-divisional headquarters has turned into an island. Hundreds of villages have lost contact with the district headquarters due to the ongoing heavy rains. Authorities have blocked the route by dumping soil, preventing people from taking risks while traveling. All eleven exits from Peepalu are currently closed, leaving residents stranded in their homes and villages.
