Cop’s agility saves life of woman who slipped while boarding running train in western India
An alert RPF cop saved a woman after she slipped while trying to board a running train in western India’s Maharashtra.
The incident happened at the Akola Junction on November 26.
CCTV footage showed the woman slipping while boarding the moving train. An alert cop rushed towards her and pulled her away from the train with the help of two other people present there.
Speaking to Newslions, ASC B.P. Kuswah said that RPF Staff Constable Babulal Dhurve was at the spot when the incident occurred. He showed his alertness and saved the woman who was identified as Chandrakala Vardhaman Patte Bahadur, age 70 years, resident of Kekat Umra, Washim district.
Along with him Constable Sanjay Mishra immediately saw the woman falling and rushed to help her too.
She fell from train number 17641 (Kacheguda Express) at platform number 3.
After the rescue, she thanked and praised the RPF staff for saving her life.
