Cop turns saviour! Policeman saves life of youth through CPR in northern India
A policeman saved the life of a youth who collapsed during the Jal Jhulani Ekadashi celebrations, a religious affair, in northern India’s Rajasthan.
This incident happened in Baran district of the state on September 26.
Visuals showed the youth lying on the ground while the cop continued to press his chest. After doing this for some minutes, the youth showed signs of life, much to the joy of the crowd present at the spot. He was then helped back up on his feet and after a while, taken away from the spot. According to a report, the cop has been identified as DSP Rajendra Meena, who was on duty at that spot during the time of this incident. The youth, a 25-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed on the ground. Meena rushed to his aid and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on him, which helped him regain his consciousness.
CPR is an extremely effective tool and can come in handy especially in such cases if performed accurately.
