Cop pulls off heroic rescue to save elderly passenger, who slipped while getting off train in eastern India
A cop’s valiance was in show as he rushed and pulled off the rescue of an elderly man, who slipped and lost control while getting down a moving train, in eastern India’s Jharkhand.
The incident happened at the Madhupur railway station on October 17.
CCTV footage showed the elderly man slip and lose control while getting down the train. He didn’t end up falling on the ground as he had managed to hold on to the train, but got dragged by the speeding vehicle for some distance.
The cop, along with the staff, rushed to save the man. He even fell down and sustained a minor injury to a finger on his right hand but eventually ended up saving the man’s life.
The cop was later identified as ASI U Mondal of the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The man also sustained minor injuries in this accident and was given the necessary medical treatment.
