Content creator playfully jumps into 120-foot waterfall, drowns in western India
A youth drowned after playfully diving into a 120-foot waterfall in western India’s Maharashtra.
This heartbreaking incident took place at the Dabhosa waterfall of Palghar district on May 5.
Visuals showed the youth, identified as a 24-year-old content creator named Maj Sajid Sheikh from Mira Bhayandar, standing by the waterfall along with his peer, Joef Sheikh, plunging together into the waterfall while the third friend was sitting on the bank of Doha shooting their video.
According to the reports, a police official said that Maj and Joef, along with one more friend from Mira Bhayandar visited the Dabhosa Falls in the morning. Two of them jumped into the plunge pool out of thrill. But unfortunately, Maj lost his life after he drowned in the waterfall.
Joef managed to emerge from the plunge but sustained critical injuries to his waist, legs, and neck. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Inspector Sanjaykumar Bramhane of Jawhar police station said that the water levels were low in the plunge pool, indicating a possible factor in the accident.
