Commuter falls into road excavation amidst traffic chaos

A man fell into a drainage excavation during road work, triggering panic among other commuters due to limited space and traffic congestion.

The incident took place in Narhe village of Pune district, Maharashtra, western India, on January 9.

Visuals show ongoing excavation work, with the road dug up in the middle. Commuters on two-wheelers had formed a queue, carefully navigating the narrow path along the sides of the digging. Amid this, a commuter suddenly lost balance and toppled into the excavation. Fellow commuters quickly rushed to help.

According to reports, within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits, road excavation is being carried out for drainage work, leading to the closure of certain roads. The accident happened when the two-wheeler rider accidentally fell into the drainage along with his vehicle while navigating the site.
