Colossal fire breaks out in slums in northern India

In a tragic event, a fire broke out in the slums in northern India’s Bihar.

The incident took place in the slum area of the Buddha colony near Golghar area, Patna on May 3.

Visuals showed thick black smoke and flames coming out from the huts. Upon receiving information of the fire outbreak, firefighting units promptly arrived at the scene to initiate relief and rescue operations. Officials were seen trying to douse off the fire.

According to the reports, there have been accounts of explosions caused by 6 cylinders within the affected area. The fire has generated a large plume of black smoke, visible for several kilometers across the vicinity.

Houses of more than 30 people were burnt. more than 25 fire brigade vehicles brought the fire under control. The fire was extinguished after hours of effort. More than 10 ambulances were also deployed at the spot.

District Fire Officer Manoj Kumar Nat said that the fire was brought under control after hours of hard work. five to six cylinders have been blasted. The fire was spreading rapidly due to the presence of huts and bamboo. The administration had made all kinds of arrangements. Hydraulics were also called.

Two people have been reported injured in the fire. They have been admitted to the PMCH hospital for further treatment.
