CM Naidu deploys drones to airlift food to victims of flood-hit in southern India

In a groundbreaking initiative in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu approved the use of drone technology to distribute food to flood victims.

The incident took place in the Ajith Singh Nagar locality of Vijayawada district on September 2.

Visuals showed drone experts preparing the drone in an open field before operating it to deliver food as per the needs of the victims. The drone was seen flying through the sky, with food bags attached, reaching flood victims who were stranded atop an apartment building.

According to reports, several low-lying areas in Vijayawada remained submerged due to floodwaters, making it challenging for volunteers and relief teams to reach every household. As a result, CM Naidu deployed drones carrying food supplies to ensure that the flood victims received the necessary aid.
