Clutched in peril! Firefighters save teen after hand gets caught in sugarcane machine
In a gripping incident in southern India’s Kerala, a teenage boy was rescued by firefighters after his hand got trapped in the gears of a sugarcane juice machine.
The incident took place near Manappuram Bridge in Koduvally town of Kozhikode district on November 28.
Visuals showed the tense moments, showing the distressed boy surrounded by fire department personnel. Using advanced tools such as hydraulic combination cutters and an angle grinder, the team worked swiftly to free the boy’s left hand within minutes.
Speaking to Newslions, Pious Augustin, Senior Fire Rescue Officer from Mukkam Fire Station, confirmed that the 14-year-old, identified as Aadi Krishna from Peruvilli Palathara, was safely rescued.
The rescue operation, which began at around 10 a.m., was led by Assistant Station Officer Joy Abraham. Other key members included Assistant Station Officer Grade P Abdul Shukkoor and fire officers P.T. Aneesh, M. Nizamuddin, P. Niyas, K. Abhinesh, K.S. Sharath Kumar, N. Sineesh, P.K. Rajan, and C.F. Joshi, whose coordinated efforts ensured the boy’s safety.
