City in northern India battles extreme heat with innovative measures
With temperatures soaring above 45°C (113°F), a city in northern India’s Rajasthan has introduced green curtains at traffic signals to provide shade and reduce temperatures for drivers waiting at red lights.
The incident took place in Jaipur on May 30.
Visuals showed how the green curtains and sprinklers were helping people provide some relief in the scorching heat. Additionally, sprinkler vans have been deployed throughout the city to create the sensation of cool showers, offering temporary relief to pedestrians and motorists.
These measures aim to mitigate the harsh effects of the intense heat and provide some comfort to the residents and visitors of Jaipur.
