Chaotic collision: Bus overturns in fiery collision with speeding lorry
A private company bus collided with a lorry while taking a U-turn, leaving 10 people injured and causing significant disruption to traffic.
The incident occurred near the Thandalam junction on the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway in Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu on December 10.
The visual shows a bus attempting to make a U-turn on the busy highway when it is struck by a speeding Taurus lorry approaching from behind. The collision is causing the bus to overturn, and passengers, some injured, are quickly exiting the vehicle. The impact of the crash is so intense that it leaves the passengers in a state of panic, turning the scene into chaos within moments.
According to reports, among the injured were nine passengers from the bus and one pedestrian who was crossing the road at the time. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus fell on the pedestrian due to the force of the crash. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in Sriperumbudur for treatment.
The accident led to a prolonged traffic jam on the Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway as authorities worked to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow. Police are investigating the incident to determine the cause and ensure accountability.
