Chaos unfolds as multiple houses collapse during canal dredging, leaving residents in panic

In a distressing incident, a double-story house and a tiled roof house collapsed in front of the residents due to canal dredging.

The collapse occurred on the banks of Sanganoor stream in Coimbatore city, in southern India’s Tamil Nadu, on January 20.

Visuals show residents standing on the street at night, watching in horror as the house collapses. Some residents are recording videos. A woman can be heard shouting in pain as the house caves into the stream. The house collapsed dramatically within a minute.

According to sources, the house began to crack as the corporation dredged the canal using a poclain machine. Fortunately, residents were alerted and evacuated the house before it collapsed, avoiding injuries. The double-story house was owned by Suresh.

After receiving the information, the authorities arrived at the scene to investigate the collapsed houses.
