Central India flooded as 28-hour-long rain disrupts daily life

Continuous rainfall for over 28 hours has caused severe waterlogging in central India’s Madhya Pradesh , flooding residential areas and major roads, making life difficult for locals.
The incident took place in several area of Shivpuri district including New Police Line, Namo Nagar, New Madhav Nagar, and Theme Road near the Medical College on September 12.
Visuals showed after continuous rain, several areas in Shivpuri became waterlogged, causing significant difficulties for people trying to commute. Pedestrians and bikers alike had to take dangerous risks to cross the flooded roads. The water level kept rising, submerging the streets further, making it almost impossible to pass through without the fear of accidents or other hazards. The streets, once bustling, now appeared like small rivers, with murky water flowing across, forcing everyone to carefully navigate their way through the submerged routes.
Shivpuri has been witnessing relentless rain for the past 28 hours, leading to significant water accumulation in various parts of the city. Residential areas such as New Police Line, Namo Nagar, and New Madhav Nagar have been submerged, causing distress among residents.
Additionally, Theme Road near the Medical College is completely waterlogged, further adding to the inconvenience. With rain continuing for over 18 hours in the district, there is growing concern that the situation could worsen if the downpour persists. Local commuters and pedestrians are finding it increasingly challenging to navigate through the flooded streets, and the risk of further disruption remains high.
