Central India deluge: Locals navigate floodwaters on submerged tractors to escape rising waters
In a desperate incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, locals were forced to use tractors to relocate themselves from flooded regions caused by torrential rainfall.
The incident took place in Bhind district on September 13.
Visuals showed the area partially submerged, with heavy rainfall continuing to pour down. Locals were seen riding partially submerged tractors to move to safer areas. Another set of visuals captured residents risking their lives to save a goat, rescuing it in a basket while standing in floodwaters up to their shoulders.
According to reports, torrential rains over the last 36 hours caused widespread panic in Bhind, swelling the district’s rivers and water drains. Numerous areas were left waterlogged, prompting rescue operations by the administration to evacuate trapped residents. The heavy rainfall led to the collapse of over fifty houses. One person lost their life, and half a dozen were injured in these incidents, while 15 sheep perished in a house collapse.
