Celebrations rage on over Chandrayaan-3’s success in southern India
The success of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft’s soft-landing on the moon was celebrated long and hard by people of various disciplines, the likes of which include teachers, lecturers and youth organisations in southern India’s Telangana.
These happened in Parigi and Thandoor regions of Vikarabad district of the state on August 23.
Visuals showed the celebrations going on in the areas. Those who celebrated did so by bursting firecrackers and also cutting cakes. The people also waved the Indian national flag besides chanting patriotic slogans. The relatively quiet roads echoed with the sound of the firecrackers as they went off with people rejoicing the historic achievement by the country. A group of men also were seen cutting a cake and celebrating the memorable occasion. They thanked Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists who worked hard day in and out to make this dream a reality.
With Chandrayaan-3’s success, India strengthened it’s claim to become a superpower in space. India became the world’s first country to make a soft landing on the moon’s south pole and fourth overall nation to reach the lunar surface.
