CCTV captures chilling moment speeding car falls into roadside well in southern India
A car lost control and fell into a well in southern India’s Kerala.
The incident took place near the Hydros Juma Masjid in Poochakkad of Kasaragod district on May 3. The car slid into a roadside well after crashing into the boundary wall of the structure. Before that, it had hit a speeding bike.
CCTV footage captured the whole accident where the driver is said to have lost control of the car.
All four people in the car were rescued when its windows and doors were smashed by the locals and people from the fire brigade.
The car was later pulled out of the well using a crane.
The four people- identified as Abdul Nazar, Midhilaj, Ajmal and Vahid- have suffered injuries but are reportedly out of danger. This accident is currently being investigated by the police.
Speaking to Newslions, Dr Vaibhav Saxena, District Police Chief, Kasaragod, said the “driver apparently fell asleep”, leading to the untoward incident.
Meanwhile, bike riders Safila, Ansil and Asmila sustained injuries after being hit by the car.
