Cattle rescued from river island by state disaster team in northern India

In northern India’s Uttarakhand, a dramatic rescue operation took place when three cattle were stranded on an island amidst the strong currents of the Bhagirathi River near Netala Siror.

The incident took place in Uttarkashi district on August 7.


Visuals showed  rescuers, battling strong currents, meticulously using ropes and harnesses to guide the stranded cattle across the Bhagirathi river. The team, displaying remarkable teamwork and precision, moved inch by inch, ensuring the cows’ safety.

According to reports, the local fire service and district disaster management team, with the help of local residents, successfully rescued the cattle and brought them to safety.
