Catastrophic fuel pump blaze erupts as chemical-laden truck crash leaves several injured
A catastrophic blaze erupted at a fuel pump following a chemical-laden truck crash, leaving several injured. At least five people tragically lost their lives in the massive fire.
The incident took place on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway in Jaipur, Rajasthan, northernIndia on december 20.
Visuals show massive flames engulfing the trucks, which were fully consumed by fire, sending thick black smoke billowing into the air and creating a terrifying scene. Police officials were at the scene, overseeing the situation.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 5:30 am on Ajmer Road when a CNG tanker parked near a petrol pump caught fire after a truck collided with other vehicles. Several more people are feared dead, while 35 others have been injured, with many in critical condition, officials said.
Efforts are currently underway to extinguish the fire, which has spread to several parked vehicles nearby. In response to the incident, 20 fire engines were dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze. At the time of writing, efforts to control the fire were still ongoing, and the police had transported the injured to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Hospital.
