Careless digging by excavator leads to massive fire after gas pipeline burst in central India
In a tragic incident, careless digging by an excavator led to the bursting of the gas pipeline that resulted in massive fire in central India’s Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place in Gwalior city on July 5.
The visuals of the incident showed a massive fire with five feet long flames erupting out of a cavity on the road. The municipal corporation team was working on a sewer pipe but the excavator accidentally burst the CNG gas pipeline leading to the fire. As soon as the gas pipeline burst, the smell of gas started spreading across the locality of Phoolbagh Chowpatty area leading to panic amongst locals. The sudden fire trapped the workers in the pit who were later rescued safely. The flames both the city on a standstill as the traffic halted and passersby stopped to see the horrific scene.
The fire brigade rushed to the spot, doused the fire and brought the situation under control. There are no further reports of any injury or casualty caused to locals due to the incident.
