Car speeding on highway spins out of control, plunges into water body in southern India, four injured
In a harrowing incident on the highway in southern India’s Karnataka, a speeding car lost control, careening into a water body after striking the divider. The four occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries as the car veered off course.
The incident took place on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway near Sankalagere Gate in Channapatna on June 8.
Visuals showed a speeding car hurtled down the highway, its engine roaring with intensity. Within moments, it lost control, skidding uncontrollably before tumbling into a nearby water body, a sudden splash echoing its descent.
The accident, captured on CCTV, unfolded as a Skoda car, en route from Bengaluru to Mysuru, attempted to overtake another vehicle. In a fatal sequence of events, the car collided with the dividing barrier, causing it to swerve sharply to the left. Ignoring the median on the service road, the vehicle crashed into a nearby water body, leaving its occupants in critical condition.
Emergency services promptly rushed to the scene, swiftly transporting the injured to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Meanwhile, authorities from the Channapatna traffic police have initiated an investigation into the incident, registering a case to delve into the circumstances surrounding the tragic crash.
