Car rams into truck on expressway in northern India
In a target incident, a car rammed into a truck taking a U-turn on the expressway in northern India’s Rajasthan.
The incident took place near Banas Pulia, Sawai Madhopur police station area on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on May 5.
Visuals showed the car trailing behind the truck, when suddenly, without signaling, the truck driver turned left. In the ensuing moments, the car collided with the truck. Shockingly, rather than halting, the driver took a U-turn and fled the scene.
In the footage, another truck was observed parked approximately 40 meters from the scene, with three individuals nearby. Upon the occurrence of the accident, all three promptly fled by leaping over the expressway railing. DSP Angad Sharma stated that following the accident, the truck was confiscated five hours later based on received information. Efforts are underway to assemble teams and locate the driver.
The tragic incident unfolded as residents of Mukundgarh were en route from Sikar to Sawai Madhopur to visit the Ranthambore Trinetra Ganesh Temple. Suddenly, a collision transpired between a truck and a car on the expressway near Banas Pulia in the jurisdiction of Boli police station. Among the casualties were Sikar residents Manish Sharma, his wife Anita Sharma, Satish Sharma, Poonam, Santosh, and Kailash, who succumbed to the accident on the spot. Additionally, two children, Manan and Deepali, sustained injuries. Post the incident, the Boli police station arrived, conducted post-mortems on all deceased individuals, and subsequently handed over their bodies to their respective families.
