Car crushes toddler in mall parking in northern India
In a heart-wrenching incident at a Mall in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a toddler tragically lost her life after being run over by a car in the mall’s parking area.
The incident took place at Cosmos Mall, located in Sanjay Place in Agra on August 6.
Visuals showed in a mall parking lot a young couple was busy placing their purchased items into the trunk of their car, unaware that their little daughter had wandered off. The toddler, full of innocent curiosity, began to roam around the parking area.
Suddenly, a car emerged from the parking exit, and in a heartbreaking moment, the child dashed in front of it. The car, unable to stop in time, ran over the little girl. Realizing what had happened, the mother and father rushed to their daughter, panic and despair overwhelming them.
The mother, upon seeing her injured child, broke down in tears, her cries filled with pain and helplessness. Within moments, a crowd gathered around them, onlookers drawn by the commotion.
According to reports the one-and-a-half-year-old girl was fatally injured after being run over by a car in the mall’s parking lot. The incident, which took place around 10 PM, was caught on CCTV footage, which has since surfaced, showing the tragic sequence of events.
The family of the toddler had just finished shopping at the mall and were loading their purchased items into their vehicle. While the family was busy, the young girl wandered towards the ramp area of the parking lot. As she played near the ramp, an oncoming car, exiting the parking lot, ran over her.
The impact left the toddler with severe head and facial injuries. Despite the family’s immediate efforts to rush her to the hospital in the same car that struck her, the injuries proved fatal, and the child passed away during treatment.
The incident has left the community in shock, and the authorities at the Hari Parvat Police Station have registered a case under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police have launched a manhunt for the driver, who reportedly fled the scene after the accident.
