Late at night, a canal of an industrial area in northern India’s Delhi broke, leading to severe flooding in the nearby JJ Colony.

The incident took place in the Munak canal near the Bawana industrial area of North Delhi district on July 10.

Visuals showed how the flooding is affecting the residents as they are struggling to navigate the waterlogged streets and protect their belongings from the rising waters.

According to reports, the breach resulted in more than three feet of water inundating six blocks of the colony, causing significant disruption and distress for local residents.

The incident has rapidly escalated as the water continues to flow into other residential areas, creating an urgent situation for the affected communities.

Repair efforts for the canal began at 8 am on July 11, as authorities worked to stem the flow of water and mitigate further damage. In the meantime, residents of JJ Colony and surrounding areas are grappling with the immediate challenges of the flooding, including displacement and potential damage to homes and infrastructure.
