A four-storey building in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh suddenly collapsed, but a major tragedy was averted as residents were evacuated just in time.
The incident took place in Kanpur city on August 14.
Visuals showed the terrifying moment as the structure buckled under its weight, collapsing with a deafening roar.
According to reports, the collapse, captured on CCTV footage, occurred due to metro tunnel excavation work beneath the building. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The incident has raised concerns about the safety measures in place during metro construction in densely populated areas.
