BSF neutralizes explosive devices in forest in eastern India

The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully dismantled and neutralized two powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in a forest in eastern India’s Odisha.

The incident took place near Chikenput, under Machhkund police jurisdiction in Koraput district on June 5.

Visuals showed how the explosive devices were dismantled by the BSF officials with bravery and vigor, putting their lives at risk by going underground to find them.

According to reports, the IEDs, suspected to have been planted by Maoist insurgents, were discovered hidden under rocky terrain. Acting on intelligence, the BSF’s bomb disposal unit swiftly carried out a search operation, recovering and safely neutralizing the explosives. The area has been known for Naxal (Maoist) activities, aiming to target security forces. The increased presence of BSF forces has significantly enhanced local security, bringing a renewed sense of safety to the community.
