November 12, 2024
In a challenging overnight operation, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) cleared Razdan Pass in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir after hours of heavy snow, rescuing multiple civilians stranded in 20 vehicles.
The Incident took place at Razdan Pass, Bandipora district on November 11.
Visuals showed at night, a vehicle equipped with snow-clearing machinery was working steadily on a road blanketed in thick layers of snow. The powerful machine, headlights cutting through the darkness, pushed its way forward, carving a path through the dense, heavy snowfall that coated the road like a thick white carpet.
Despite low visibility and adverse conditions, the BRO team worked tirelessly through the night. After five hours of continuous snow clearance, they successfully opened the road, ensuring the safe evacuation of all trapped civilians. This prompt action by BRO exemplifies their dedication to maintaining essential connectivity, even under challenging weather conditions.
