Brazen jewellery heist: woman steals earring from jewellery shop in northern India

A dramatic jewellery theft happened in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, where a woman slyly stole a silver earring from a prominent jewellery shop owned by Kishori Seth, a former councillor and BJP’s metropolitan media in-charge.

The incident took place at the shop in Rasulgarh under the jurisdiction of Sarnath police station in Varanasi district on July 8.

Visuals showed the woman casually browsing through the gold and silver jewellery as Aman Seth, Kishori Seth’s son, attends to her. As Aman busily showcases various pieces and calculates prices on his calculator, the woman seizes the opportunity. With deft, practised movements, she slyly slides a silver earring into her hand.

According to reports, Aman’s suspicions are piqued after she leaves, prompting him to review the CCTV footage. The video reveals the woman’s cunning act, confirming the theft. Kishori Seth promptly lodged a written complaint at Sarnath police station on Tuesday, reporting the stolen silver jewellery worth Rs 15,000 (approximately $200).

The police are now investigating the incident, using the detailed CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the audacious thief. This brazen act serves as a stark reminder of the need for constant vigilance, even in seemingly routine business interactions.
