This incident is reported to have happened at platform number three in Purulia station on May 1.
CCTV footage captured the chilling moment when the passenger tried to get on the moving train (08648 BBM-ASN express) . The train had just started and the man, with bags on his shoulder and hand and a stick, tried to get into.
However, he found it tough and he was not able to balance himself properly and hence, hung out of the train for a brief while before the cops rushed and pushed him in. The man was identified as a 60-year-old and had it not been for the cops, he could have slipped and fallen into the gap between the train and the platform. The train was stopped momentarily before it started again. The three cops, who helped the man from this accident, have been identified as LCT BK Mahato, LCT S Pradhan and C Mahato.
