In a dramatic turn of events at an airport in southern India’s Kerala, a bomb threat led to heightened tension and a swift emergency response.

The incident took place at Thiruvananthapuram airport on August 22.

Visuals revealed passengers disembarking from the plane on the runway, while airport staff waved red flags to indicate an emergency landing. The alert was triggered when the pilot of an Air India flight from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram reported a bomb threat shortly before 7:30 a.m. The aircraft was subsequently placed in an isolation bay upon arrival.

According to reports, the bomb threat was communicated by the pilot as the plane approached the airport. Authorities declared a full emergency, deploying the bomb squad and other emergency services promptly. The plane, which landed around 8 a.m., was moved to a secluded area where all 136 passengers and crew were evacuated safely. Baggage and cargo were meticulously screened as part of the emergency protocol.
