Bolero swept into mine pit amidst heavy rain in central India; driver escapes by jumping out

The driver managed to escape by jumping out of the vehicle, and fortunately, no casualties were reported despite the dramatic turn of events.
The incident took place at Dudhichua Coal Mines, NCL (Northern Coalfields Limited) Coal Block, Singrauli District on August 12.
Visuals showed a powerful torrent of water rapidly flowing through an area, creating a treacherous environment. A Bolero vehicle is almost entirely submerged in the rushing water, which is churning and swirling around it. The vehicle’s wheels are barely visible above the surface, indicating that it is heavily inundated. Amidst this chaos, the driver and other occupants of the vehicle are seen leaping out into the turbulent water. Their actions are urgent and frantic as they attempt to escape the danger posed by the rising flood. The intense current is pushing the Bolero towards the edge of a pit, and eventually, it tumbles into the pit, partially concealed by the surrounding water. The overall atmosphere is one of urgency and tension. Despite the severity of the situation, there are no reports of injuries, and the individuals who escaped the vehicle are safe, underscoring the fortunate outcome of an otherwise perilous incident.
On Monday afternoon, Singrauli experienced intense rainfall, recording 70 mm within a single hour. The heavy downpour transformed the city into a virtual water body, causing vehicles to be swept away. In a dramatic incident at the NCL coal block’s Dudhichua coal mines, a Bolero was caught in the floodwaters.
As captured in a video by a bystander, the vehicle was rapidly engulfed by the rising water. With the situation escalating, the driver and other occupants were compelled to jump out to save themselves. The Bolero was ultimately pushed into a mine pit by the forceful water current. Remarkably, there were no reported injuries from the incident.
Shift In-Charge P.N. Singh and his team were inspecting machinery and work sites in the mine area when their vehicle encountered the floodwaters mixed with debris, causing it to become trapped. Despite their best efforts, the vehicle was overtaken by the swift current, but all passengers safely escaped before it was carried away.
The video footage of this incident has left viewers stunned, highlighting the severity of the flooding and the quick thinking of the individuals involved.
