Bold robbery: Jewelry shop looted at gunpoint in northern India
In a bold robbery in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a jewelry shop was looted at gunpoint by a group of armed miscreants.
The incident took place in the Majorganj area of Sultanpur district on August 28.
Visuals showed the five robbers, all on bikes, as they arrived at the shop. Upon entering, they drew weapons and threatened the owner and staff for resisting. Three of the robbers wore helmets, one had his mouth covered with a scarf, and another wrapped a scarf around his head. Two helmeted robbers restrained the businessman and his son while the other three looted jewelry and cash, filling their bags.
According to reports, police are currently investigating the case, using the video footage to track down the suspects. Surrounding districts have also been alerted. Following the incident, bullion traders gathered at the scene. SP Somen Verma, CO City Shivam Mishra, ASP Arun Chandra, and Nagar Kotwal AK Dwivedi promptly arrived at the location. The SP has deployed six teams, including the Crime Branch, to apprehend the robbers. CO City Shivam Mishra confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and a surveillance team has been activated.
