Biker swept away while crossing flooded bridge in central India
A motorcyclist was swept away while attempting to cross a flooded bridge in central India’s Madhya Pradesh.
The incident took place between Poner Khurd and Dhapara villages in the Barghat area, Seoni district on July 22.
Visuals showed the bridge inundated with rapidly flowing water as the young man tried to cross it on his bike. As he reached the middle of the bridge, the intense current overpowered him, causing him and his bike to be swept away.
According to reports in Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, a young motorcyclist was swept away by a strong current while attempting to cross a flooded bridge, a chilling incident caught on video.
The incident occurred between the villages of Poner Khurd and Dhapara in the Barghat police station area. Continuous heavy rainfall since Monday morning had caused the stream to overflow, leading to the closure of the bridge for traffic. Despite the clear danger, the young man risked his life to cross the bridge and was carried away by the strong current.
Barghat police station in-charge Mohnish Bais reported that they received the information late in the evening. Rescue teams searched the area but were unable to locate the young man before nightfall forced them to suspend the operation. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team is continuing the search for the missing motorcyclist.
