Biker fatally struck by SUV driving on wrong side in northern India
In a tragic incident in northern India’s Haryana, a young biker, Akshat Garg, lost his life after a Mahindra 3XO SUV, allegedly driven recklessly on the wrong side of the road, collided with his motorcycle.
The incident took place at DLF Phase II, near Belvedere Park, on Golf Course Road, Gurugram city on September 15.

Visuals showed a speeding SUV was approaching from the wrong side of the road when it collided forcefully with a biker, sending the rider crashing to the ground. The impact was severe, and the biker lay on the road, unable to move. His friend, who was riding alongside him, quickly stopped and confronted the driver of the SUV. In a state of shock, the driver seemed panicked as he exited the vehicle. The friend gathered other bystanders, urging them to help and call the police immediately. The scene was chaotic, with the injured biker on the ground and the driver visibly shaken, realizing the gravity of the situation. The urgency of the moment heightened as the friend desperately sought assistance for his fallen companion.
According to reports the Gurugram Police have filed an FIR against Thakur, charging him with multiple offenses under the Motor Vehicles Act, including causing death by negligence and rash driving. Although Thakur was initially detained, he was later released on bail.
As investigations continue, inquiries have been made regarding whether alcohol or drug tests were conducted on the accused driver, but no official response has been provided by local authorities.
