Bear creates stir as it enters village in southern India
by Surya PrakashA bear created quite a stir after it strayed into an abandoned house in a village in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.
This incident took place in Vajrapukotturu mandal of Srikakulam district of the state on April 3.
Visuals showed the bear sitting inside of the building. The size of the bear was itself enough to send shivers down the spines of the locals. A glimpse of the massive omnivore was seen inside the space of the house where it was and locals brought it out by throwing a packet of biscuits. As the biscuit crumbs fell down on the ground from a higher area, it drew the bear’s attention who slowly trudged out of the room and was seen trying to eat them. It then took away the pack of biscuits which was also thrown, inside the building. Police officers and other officials rushed to the spot to address the situation with the villagers left in panic in the presence of the wild animal.
It was learnt that the forest department rushed to the spot after receiving information about the bear and made efforts to capture the animal. It was also learnt that two villagers had lost their lives in a similar scenario where a bear had appeared in the village.
