In the early hours in Bangladesh an individual reportedly planning to attack a Hindu temple was apprehended by local Hindus.

The incident took place in Patharghata area of Chittagong city and the video went viral on August 10.

Visuals showed few men hitting a young boy ruthlessly for protecting the temple from being vandalised.

According to reports, the incident has sparked concern in the community, but local leaders have praised the swift actions of the residents in preventing what could have been a dangerous situation. The police are continuing to investigate the man’s motives and any possible connections to extremist groups.
