In northeastern India’s Assam, a remarkable rescue operation unfolded as 35 snakes were discovered crawling in a newly constructed toilet of a local home.

The incident took place in Kaliabor area of Nagaon district on May 27.

Visuals showed the snakes crawling inside a newly constructed bathroom.

The house owner promptly contacted Sanjib Deka, an animal lover known for his expertise in handling wildlife. Upon arrival, Deka found the snakes and carefully recovered them, ensuring their safety and that of the residents. He then released the snakes in the Joisagar Dalani area, a suitable natural habitat.

Deka shared, “The house owner informed me about the presence of snakes, and I reached the spot. I recovered around 35 snakes crawling from a newly constructed toilet of the house. Later, I released the snakes at Joisagar Dalani.” This incident highlights the occasional challenges of living close to nature in Assam, a state in northeastern India known for its rich biodiversity.
