Ambulance thief caught after high-speed chase ends in gorge crash
A thief who stole an ambulance was arrested after a high-speed police chase ended in a crash.
The incident took place in Nalgonda district in Telangana, southern India on December 7.
Visuals show the thief speeding in the stolen ambulance, attempting to evade police at a toll gate. Despite efforts to stop him, he broke through the toll barrier and continued driving at high speed, trying to escape the chase. Eventually, the ambulance crashed into a gorge, with the thief seen emerging from the wreckage. Police and locals were monitoring the situation as the vehicle lay in the gorge.
According to reports, the suspect drove the stolen ambulance from Hayathnagar, Hyderabad, towards Khammam and then Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, pursued by Telangana police. During the chase, he struck a sub-inspector in Nalgonda. As he reached Katepally, he crossed the toll gate at Korlapahad on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. The Katepally police confirmed that the accused has a history of stealing ambulances.
