Alert train driver avoids collision with tractor in eastern India
An alert train driver reacted in time to avoid what would have been a horrific collision with a tractor in eastern India’s Jharkhand.
This incident happened at a railway crossing near the Santaldih railway crossing of Bhojudih railway station, Bokaro on June 7.
Visuals showed the tractor having collided with the side of the train. As per a report, the train was headed towards New Delhi from Bhubaneswar when this accident happened. The alert train driver reacted in time and applied the brakes which slowed the speed of the vehicle. Had he not applied the brakes, a major accident could have happened. The tractor got stuck to the bogie of the train. The train resumed its journey after 45 minutes.
The railway have taken cognizance of this matter and suspended the man who was placed at the gate. It was learnt that by the time the gate dropped, the tractor had already passed through. The tractor driver also reportedly fled after this accident.
