Airport faces water leakage due to heavy rainfall in southern India

Cyclone Michaung has caused significant disruptions to air travel in southern India, particularly impacting Bengaluru airport.
The water leakage incident happened in Bengaluru’s newly opened Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport on May 9.

Bengaluru’s new airport terminal experienced leaks due to heavy rain caused by Cyclone Michaung. The severe weather also led to the temporary closure of Chennai’s airport, resulting in 17 flights being redirected to Bengaluru. This situation caused disruptions at both airports, highlighting the need for preparedness during extreme weather events.
