Adventure turns tragic as paragliders crash into ravine, claiming two lives

A 27-year-old woman and her paragliding instructor lost their lives after their paraglider crashed into a ravine.

The incident took place in at Keri Plateau of North Goa district, Goa, on January 19.

The visuals show the parachute swaying in the air as it falls into a ravine, with two people trapped in it. Witnessing the parachute descending, onlookers scream in fear.

According to reports, the victims were identified as Shivani Dable from Pune and her instructor, Sumal Nepali (26) from Nepal. Despite being rushed to a hospital in Bambolim, both were declared dead on arrival. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations, which were completed on Sunday.

Authorities revealed that the paragliding company involved was operating without proper permissions and had failed to provide adequate safety equipment for participants. A case has been registered at Mandrem police station against the company’s owner, Shekhar Raizada, under charges of endangering human life. Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of negligence.
