Stone pelting clash erupts in political rally in southern India

Tension mounted as a crowd hurled stones at a political rally in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place in Banaganapalle town in Nandyal district on May 7.

Visuals showed, BC Indiramma, the spouse of TDP candidate BC Janardhan Reddy, was canvassing in Santha Market when Katasani Obul Reddy, the son of YCP candidate Ramireddy MLA, and their supporters initiated the stone-throwing, resulting in injuries to TDP members.

However, The direct involvement of MLA Katasani Ramireddy’s son in the attack on BC Indiramma escalated tensions significantly, prompting a large-scale police deployment in Banaganapalle town amid apprehension about potential further unrest.
