Heavy rainfall inundate roads, houses in Northern India, rescue operations underway
Torrential rain flooded roads making travel a difficult task in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident took place in Kupwara district on April 29.

In another visuals, Officials are seen conducting several rescue operations from boats the road with the help of rescue boats
Speaking to Newslions, Jammu and Kashmir police said “the heavy downpour has caused rapid increase in the water level, inundation of national highway at multiple locations including Kawari, Wodhpora in Handwara jurisdiction. As a precautionary measure, all schools in the affected areas have been closed”.
Kupwara Police along with District Administration, State disaster management , and central reserve police force carried out rescue operations.
The Meteorological Department forecasts no respite from the weather for the next 24 hours, increasing concerns for residents and authorities alike. Efforts to mitigate the impact of the flooding are underway, with emergency response teams on high alert.
